The GreenTracks Amazon Cruise is an ecotour on the Amazon river and its tributaries. You will explore the upper reaches of the exotic Amazon, one of the world's greatest ecosystems, in the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve, the largest Eco-Reserve in Peru, or remote regions of the Rio Tigre or the Rio Tapiche, on a colorful Amazon riverboat.
Spend your days hiking through the rainforest, exploring by small boat, viewing wildlife, fishing for piranha, relaxing in comfort on the upper deck, all while surrounded by sights and sounds most people have only imagined. Experience up close the cry of colorful tropical birds, the lush smell of the rainforest, countless flowers, towering trees, pink dolphins playing alongside your boat, incredible reptiles and amphibians, iridescent butterflies, and captivating monkeys.
Between excursions off the boat, passengers can relax in comfortable deck chairs or lounge in a hammock on the observation deck. At night, an extravaganza of stars can be seen.
Meals of both international and regional cuisine are served buffet-style in the air conditioned dining room. Seasonal exotic rainforest fruits are available for snacks and juices. Freshly caught fish is deliciously prepared by our chef and is always a big hit with our passengers. Beautifully presented salads are part of each lunch and dinner. The fully stocked bar serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Be sure to try a Pisco Sour, the national drink of Peru.
Every day there will be several excursions off the boat, led by GreenTracks-trained, bilingual Naturalist Guides. You will have an intimate experience of the rainforest. By aluminum boat we will explore the small creeks into gorgeous lakes during the day and to search for caiman and colorful frogs at night. We will hike on rainforest trails in search of interesting animals, multicolored butterflies, bizarre insects, exotic flowers and gigantic trees. Ethnobotany (use of plants by people) will be explained by our guides.
